ABOUT THIS EVENT:
This evening is a comfortable and relaxed night where we can dive into a discussion about birth plans. The idea that you can plan anything when it comes to birth may sound crazy. The truth is there is a whole truckload of decisions you will be making in pregnancy, labour and your whole parenting journey. Tonight's workshop gives you some insight into ways to uncover, explore and discuss your needs around birth and effectively communicating them with the people around you.
Additionally, you will have a chance to look at some practical things you can do to plan for life with a new baby that will help your sanity, your relationship and increase your enjoyment around this time.
Come along if you are wondering:
What the heck is a birth plan?
Do I have to ..............?
How do I write a birth plan that isn't a small novel
It cant be that hard really, shouldn't I just trust and hope for the best?
Bring your own questions too!
Who is it for?
This event is for women with an interest in pregnancy and birth and newborns. This is focused on the needs of expecting mums. Female support people, friends and doulas are welcome to attend.
Birth plans can be really helpful for communicating your needs to midwives and doctors BUT when poorly written can be ineffective (or sometimes just way too packed full of information for the staff to have time to read it).
Knowing the optimal time to present and discuss your birth plan will make a HUGE difference in how effective it is.
- There are a few different kinds of birth plans. You really want to know the difference.
