All about interventions

  • Marrickville Australia (map)
interventions in pregnancy, birth, labour , baby, common, immunisations, cesarean,

This evening is a comfortable and relaxed night where we can dive into the testing, screening, treatments and interventions in pregnancy, labour and with a newborn.  Promise this won't be an episode of one born every minute. Although we will dive into some of the more anxiety provoking parts of birth education you will leave more confident.

Come and demystify common tests, screening and medical procedures commonly offered in pregnancy and with a new baby.

  • What tests are common in pregnancy?
  • I want to understand negative blood groups, diabetes screening, anaemia screening.
  • What immunisations or medications are offered as "standard" to me and my baby.
  • Can I avoid a cesarean?
  • What happens in an induction?
  • What is the big deal about epidurals?
  • Bring your own questions too!

This event is for women with an interest in pregnancy and birth and newborns. This is focused on the needs of expecting mums. Female support people, friends and doulas are welcome to attend. This may also suit mothers with new babies.

Why come?

  • Understand the cascade of interventions

  • Because you are wondering what the heck is the big deal with interventions anyway

  • Talk, discuss and process what is being offered to you, and the decisions you are making about your care and your baby's care.

  • Discuss questions and worries you have around giving birth with interventions

  • Breathe a sigh of relief when others share insights and concerns that feel familiar

  • Are you freaking out? Seriously beat that anxiety when we demystify the whole thing.
